Holiday Festivities

Happy Holidays blog readers and writers! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and if you do not celebrate Christmas, then I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday break so far!

My family does celebrate Christmas. Every year, I go to my parents house the week before  to unwind  and visit.  Then we all drive back on the 23rd to spend time with my grandparents on my dad’s side and then my immediate family on my mom’s side in Merced. This year, I had three Christmases! On the 23rd, Eric, my mom, dad, and I went to Oakdale to have dinner with my dad’s parents (my grandparents). It was so great hanging out with them, especially because I rarely get to see them. My grandmother made a wonderful dinner of Cornish game hens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, salad, and green beans. I was so stuffed that I fell asleep on the couch after!

Then I ate pie that my grandpa made, which officially made me feel like I was going to die.

The next morning (Christmas Eve), Eric and I opened gifts at our place before heading to his parent’s house to have our second Christmas with his family. Again, eating ensued and I felt sleepy. Here’s a photo after I dragged myself off the couch:

He smiled!

Eric drove me to Merced that night to be with my family and we (surprise!) went out to eat. I’m pretty sure I gained about 3 pounds in 24 hours.

Finally, Christmas day came and it was great!

Probably my best Christmas gift, Straight A’s!

Red flannel pajamas. I have wanted them for years now, they are so cozy.

My adorable guy best friends bought these for me! I’d say they did a pretty good job!

My two best guys, Dan and Ryan.

Now I can stay hydrated on my long runs!

My cousin Kate got a duct tape set thingy for Christmas and made me this super cute mustache headband!

Yes, it’s a Twilight book. I am a huge Twilight nerd, so I was super excited about this gift!

After we opened gifts, it was time to eat!

I had two plates. Again, food coma.

The rest of the day was spent sitting on the couch and watching movies. A successful Christmas, if I do say so myself!

The fun didn’t stop there, however…

Friday was my best friend Kayla’s birthday so we went out to celebrate. She lives in Arizona with her boyfriend now, so we don’t get to see each other very often :(

Kayla and I at dinner

My girlfriends, Morgan, Kayla, and Shealynn at Kayla’s brother’s house!

Love them!

The holidays have been wonderful so far! Tomorrow (NYE) I’m heading back to Merced to watch movies and stay up late with my grandparents.

If you’re going out, make sure to be safe, there are a lot of crazies out this time of year!

Happy Holidays and thank you for reading :)
